President's Message

As the years fly by I find each Christmas and New Years holiday to be more precious. I hope this season found you and yours at the best it could be. If I missed you at the pau hana/Christmas lights walk or Margaret's holiday party, please consider this message as my "best of the holidays" wish to you. (shift gears) Just think, in one month we'll be skiing!!!!!! I hope ya' all asked Santa for lots of snow. Now if I know this group, I'm sure you've been doing your personal kind of training to be fit for some great ski town fun. I'm so excited, I've got a calendar at the office and I'm crossing off the days. If I miss the bus back, don't worry and don't look for me. I can speak Canadian. See ya'll at mid mountain,

Dave

Ski Trip Update- Ski Trip 2003

BIG WHITE

Yes the resort is finally open and of course awaiting our arrival in February! Think dry, champagne powder as we have only 48 days remaining! Amy still needs United or Air Canada frequent flyer numbers from many of you. She also needs your ski rental request as group sport-package discounted rates require advance reservation. Big White has only one rental shop so options for demo or high performance skis are limited and can be reserved as available upon arrival. Contact Amy.

Also, advance reminder! Don't forget to bring your PASSPORTS on 1/31!!!!

In case you Missed it:

Pau Hana at Sunset Grill/ Christmas Lights

We had a really good turn out at Sunset Grill. We had all of the tables in one of the outside sections. A little bit of an odd layout because round tables don't combine that easily. On the other hand it did allow Honey to be at center of attention: literally. After some drinks and some food (some got dinner some got pupus some just filled up on the sourdough bread) a bunch of us headed up to Honolulu Hale to check out the Christmas Decorations. Vendors are selling little colored flashing lights this year. I have an excuse for buying them as I have two 5 year old nephews and a 5 year old niece. I guess some other ski club members are just kids at heart. President Dave wore one under his shirt in a largely unsuccessful attempt to convince us he was ET (you are a little too tall Dave) We checked out the trees decorated by the various city departments: some interesting design choices to be sure. Then some of checked out the wreath display while others walked up to Beretania to see the lights there. I'm not personally much of a crafts person but I thought the wreaths were pretty impressive. Good time had by all.

T-Shirts

Thanks to Chris Harris we have a great selection of ski club shirts in a variety of colors. Talk to a board member at the general meeting or look on the web-site.
