President's Message

We're off to a good start gauging by the turn out for the "tasting event" at Kathy and Roger's house. Mahalos to the Mulledy's for sharing their beautiful home. For those in attendance, it appeared to be a quite an enjoyable evening. It was reportedly proven the club has good taste in vino with awards being given for the most favorable vintage. I also noticed this club appears to prefer "the red", as most of that was gone when I arrived. Sorry for my tardiness, hope to see more of your smiling faces next time.

Thanks to the board members who, of course, took care of club business very well without me. Next, I hope the club has a good turn out for Big White Night on 7/1. It's a hosted party, and you can get all details in the newsletter. Lets make it an reason/excuse to get out an play and recruit new members to the club. Then just a few days later, we can look forward to the red, white, blue on the 4th of July up at Schofield barracks. Maybe we can convince Lee to bring her special glasses for the fireworks. Well then, until July, adios amigos, Dave

July 4- Fireworks at Schofield

The Ski Association is having their annual 4th of July BBQ bash and fireworks display at Schofield Barracks again this year on Friday (July 4, of course). We have rented site #22 where we will set up a tent as a place to gather, eat and talk story. Please bring something to barbecue and a dish to share. I will bring my barbecue. Also bring your favorite beverage (although it wouldn't surprise me if there will be some mimosa there) and a chair or mat to sit on. We will be setting up the tent at 12:00 p.m. and will fire up the grill around 3:00 so we have time to eat, relax and take the tent down before it gets dark and before the fireworks start at 8:00 p.m. (It also would not surprise me if we have some funny glasses there which give the fireworks another whole dimension!) Other things going on besides just good friends are live bands, a kiddie carnival, craft fair, food and drink booths. The Ski Association pays for the site rental using your membership dollars so we hope you will come out and join us, and bring a friend if you like, for a good time. Any questions, call Jim Kelly at 625-1675.

July 11- Pau Hana- Dave & Buster's 5:30 p.m.

Please join us for sunset pu pu's at Dave & Busters on their 3rd floor patio at 5:30 pm. The open air breezes and spectacular sunsets has brought us back to this location for a second time. See you there. (the writer will challenge anyone to a boxing match or GS ski run on the 2nd floor...any takers?)
