President's Message
Happy New Year ! I hope everyone had a good time for the holidays. If things didn't go quite the way you wanted, remember, you have a whole new year to get it right. I want to thank the members who made it to the December activities. The Christmas light walk gave me "chicken skin" like a little boy. Thanks again
to Margaret and Roger for sharing their home for Christmas. You had to see the upside down Christmas tree, and old custom resurrected I was told. January is always an exciting month, just look to the left column for dates and places. Our trip to Aspen/Snowmass is almost here. I'm sure everyone has been counting off the days and praying for snow. OK, I'll confess, I've already checked my gear to make sure I'm ready. I want to send a big thank you to Amy for all the time she's spent planning our exciting trip. There will be some extra cameras around this year. Watch what your doing, you could end up on "ski club's surprise camera". It should make the picture party at Wanda's, after the trip, all the more special. Remember, everyone is invited to the Waikiki yacht club on the 17th when we pick up our packets. The start of a new year is often a good time to reflect on what has happened in the past ones. I've had such a good time the past two years as president. I made new friends and got closer to old ones. Well, it's time to go for a run on the beach, training for the trip, you understand. See you all soon, Dave B

SNOWMASS UPDATE!
30 more days till we hit the slopes! I hope Santa delivered some new exercise equipment under your tree or time to dust off the old equipment and get those legs ready! Remember to check out the site www.aspensnowmass.com for up to date information. The ESPN Winter X Games VIII will be hosted at Buttermilk Mountain from January 24-January 27th which should add a bit of excitement to the area.

A few reminders:

SKI ITINERARY (brief recap): Friday January 23rd United # 56 at 11:00 pm.
Returning Sat 1/31 # 43 from Denver arriving at 4:12 pm. All tickets will be electronic and we will check-in independently. We suggest 2 hours pre-flight. Though we have entered Frequent Flyer numbers for those who provided, we would suggest that you also have your number available at check in.

2004 Resolution- Share your Ideas with the Club
Have you seen something that you thought would be fun to try if you could get a group of people together. Well, why not suggest it as a ski club activity. True, sometimes organizing this group can be like herding cats but we promise the assistance of some experienced cat-herders, the board, to help.
On a related note, if you go to an activity and have a good time, why not share your thoughts about it. Send an article to the newsletter. Doesn't have to be anything fancy.

In Case You Missed It
The Angells' X-mas Party!! Many thanks go out to Margaret and Roger for hosting another successful x-mas party at their home. They always have a
beautiful display of decorations including their infamous suspended Christmas Tree hanging from their cathedral ceiling. I'm still wondering how they manage to water the tree! I'd hate to be below the tree when one of those very large ornaments slips off the tree. After a few glasses of wine or eggnog, it doesn't take much to impress this group and leave them pondering in amazement. Many thanks to those who shared in the gift exchange as the gifts were delightful! I think we'd all agree that the hit of the gifts were the 2 gallon Heiniken beer bottle and Mini beer Keg. Are we surprised
to hear that those gifts exchanged hands a few times?

Honolulu Hale Christmas Walk: We had a very nice turnout at Philip Paolo's before strolling down to see the xmas lights. It appears that Mr. & Mrs. Claus had a welcomed "makeover" with newly painted xmas suits and toe nail polish to match! We always enjoy the tree displays and are amazed at the creativity. The stroll is never complete without making at least one trip down the wreath display hallway
