PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:
Well NOAA was correct! At last check, the Whistler Blackcomb Resort has over 5’ of base and still snowing as of this writing. There will be no lack of coverage this year, and the snowcats will not be grooming the dirt at night when we are there.
As for the New Year, the Rainbows will win the Sugar Bowl. They’ll always be the Bows to me. It finally looks like it will be a white Christmas in Tahoe where I’ll be heading on New Years Eve and we’re all looking forward to an AWESOME Ski Week 2008 in Whistler.
Mahalo’s to Anita, Toby, Wandi, Wanda, Darrell, Bill, Sam, Larry, Craig, Kathlyn, Kathy, Linda, and others whose efforts and sponsoring of club events have made this past year an enjoyable one for the membership.
Aloha,
Geof

Come and join the fun in the Aiea/Pearlcity area for a pau hana....I have made it for 4:30 as I just found out happy hour prices are only in the bar area and if we reserve a large table in the back no Happy Hour Prices are available...so some of us will need to try to get there early ( I will for sure) to claim the seats in the bar. (Chinatown). This is also a must-attend event for those going on the Whistler
trip, when the trip packets will be distributed. Pizza, salad, and dessert will
be provided by the club. However, everyone must bring their own drinks.
Honolulu Tower (60 N. Beretania Street) is located on the corner of N. Beretania
Street and Maunakea Street, directly across from the Chinese Cultural Plaza

large parking lots across the street from the condo. The underground parking lot
is on the corner of Nuuanu and Beretania. As you are heading Ewa
down Beretania (a one way street), immediately after you pass Nuuanu, the
entrance to the underground parking is on your left. After 5 PM, the parking fee
is 50 cents per half hour with a maximum charge of $3. The second parking
structure is on Maunakea Street in the Chinese Cultural Plaza, very close to the
intersection of Maunakea and Beretania. The parking fee is a flat $2 after 5 PM.
The gate to the condo rec area is on Maunakea Street, directly across the
entrance to the Chinese Cultural Center parking structure. We will try to have
someone stand by the gate entrance to let you into the rec area. However, if the
locked gate is not manned, please call Wandi's cell phone number (230-1990) to
be let in. Our club shirts will be available for sale during the party
too, so if you need a new shirt for the Whistler trip,
please come to the party with your checkbooks!

PAST ACTIVITIES:
CHRISTMAS PARTY AND BOAT PARADE
Thank you Darrell and Rheta for hosting us once again for the annual club Christmas Party on December 15th. The food contributed by members was Ono and plentiful, and with over sixty gifts contributed by members and guests (were there really over sixty members and guests in the house?), the drama of the gift exchange (who was finally going to end up with the Bailey's?) was worth an Emmy. The Boat Parade was about 1.5 hours late in starting but well worth it with a pirate dramatically stabbing Santa, a boat pulled by neon dolphins (or was it sharks?) and trailed by a neon shark, the usual Christmas Elvis, and an Aloha Stadium with a football going through the goal post---to mention only a few. Another annual ski club event not to be missed.
